A Behind the Scenes Look at Netflix from Technology Posts
February 10, 2006
Love it or hate it, Netflix is now the largest DVD rental services in the world.  Netflix uses 37 distribution hubs to supply over 4 million subscribers with their choice of videos.  With competitors like BlockBuster looking to knock them out of the number one spot, its no wonder Netflix is so secretive about its operations.

Kfmb.com has an interesting story shedding some light on what goes on behind the scenes at Netflix.  Check out this link for the story.  Be sure to click on the Watch Video link on the right side of the page to see the actual news broadcast.

I have to admit, I was surprised to see how much of the processing is not automated.  Netflix obviously requires a large staff to process its DVDs.  The story also makes note of large portions of the Netflix office that are off limits.  Odds are those areas are much more automated and more efficient.

If you are a Netflix subscriber, odds are you have wondered what goes on behind the scenes.  This story offers a rare look and proves very interesting.
